This one has become an obsession of mine... Made to within about 3 miles of it back on Sept 8th, but the weather turned on me. Hope its still there to be found, one of these days!!!

That's hard core.
I think I'd be more likely to find it if "be prepared for anything" included an espresso stand with cheese pastries.

Yep- I like the sound of the espresso stand close by, but for this run I think a thermos & coleman camp stove will have to do. I don't so much mind the distance on this hide, but the trail that heads toward the cache is truly wretched, so high probability of getting stuck or breaking down. Now that the fall weather seems to have set in (drizzle, rain, wind...) it may get shelved till next year, but thats gonna drive me nuts!

Any chance of a winter recovery expedition via snowmachine? Perhaps with a metal detector? I know this is a toughie... but it's an iconic cache in terms of its remoteness. Good luck in your quest!

I would suppose a winter run is possible, but not pretty- the area the cache is in is not traveled much ,if at all, in the winter. Also it is quite wide open country, so easy to get caught in a ground storm that can be common around here. I'm still hoping for a try yet, but with the creek crossings I'm hoping the rain lets up for a while!!!
