I found this sign on the way to a cache today. Now I know where the wilderness is at!

Did you look behind the sign? And the hikers are going the wrong way. I bet NorthWes made that sign.

That is just begging to be made into a cache. Call it 'The Wilderness' and the clue is Follow the sign.

How droll! Of course we made that sign... "Action Sign & Graphics, a division of Warning Lites of Alaska - purveyor of fine signs to Chugach State Park since its inception" - that's us! We supply signs to the entire state parks system - southeast, Prince William Sound, Kenai, Chugach SP, Mat-Su, Wood-Tikchik... if it's a sign, we made it (except some of those cool interpretive station signs...) We're also the official sign contractor for State DOT as well... all those highway signs... $$$! Seriously - at this signpost 'wilderness' refers to the trail's non-availability to Army units for mass runs - some days you'll show up at that location and you can see hundreds of the Army's finest Airborne soldiers running (sometimes uphill, sometimes downhill) as they maintain their fighting fitness. Me? I like the wilderness at about a 2.5mph pace...

Had to go see this sign for myself today! I only noticed, that I was the only one out there this morning with lots of bear dung around. Whistle while you work was a prevailant tune, which I sang. Sign did make me snicker though. ;D
