As a birthday present for me, Blazingpathways has agreed to go search for the elusive Tactical Advantage Night Cache. We have already done Mission Impossible and Operation Blue Moon so we have the starting coordinates. As the snow is disappearing and so are the night hours we think this coming Friday night might be the perfect time to go for it. (March 28th, which just happens to be my birthday. Funny how that works out.)
Since I don't get off work until 8 pm and sunset is soon after, we thought of starting at 9pm. If you are interested, respond here, email us or call us 222-2467.
Oh, by the way, since this one has not been found yet this winter, I will note that I have been given information of how to tell when we have reached the approximate cache location. Maybe even someone who has already found it will want to accompany the brave adventurers who think they have the tools and luck to outwit Dr Bleh and his henchmen and complete this vital mission. ;D

I should be able to make it. Looks like we were the last ones to find this one. I will even bring reflectors to remark the end.

Beware the closing hours for the parking area nearest the cache... I've been led to believe there's a security exercise ramping up sometime 'in the next few days' in that area (all a test, folks - just ignore the commotion and keep on driving...). Otherwise - do this one before the bears come out!

I have been putting this one off for quite a while now. So I would love to go with you all and finish it up. Although I need to figure out where I put the final coords, I have them written somewhere...

Otherwise - do this one before the bears come out! I thought Rick and his posse took care of that bear last year.

I'm planning on coming and I heard that pseudotech may even make a rare appearance. I can't believe no one has been out there since we were. It has been over a year unfound. It is a good one and there are a few other good caches along the way.

I thought of meeting at the PT Woronzof overlook/parking area as the next one down has the big red RESTRICTED PARKING sign on it, even though I have seen many people park there and go hiking on the Coastal Trail.
If anyone knows a better place to park I am open to suggestions. I don't remember there being a gate on the PT Woronzof parking lot, but I may be mistaken. The coordinates for this parking lot are: N 61* 12.117' W 150* 01.243 . It took me about 15 minutes to walk to the starting coords of Tactical Advantage via the Coastal Trail from this parking lot. The other lot was 0.1 miles closer to the cache so would take a few minutes less. Adding another 15 minutes to return from the starting coordinates leaves approzimately 1 and 1/2 hours to find the cache and return to the starting coordinates if being timely on leaving the parking lot is important and we leave the parking lot by 9 pm. I can be there no earlier than 8:30 because of work.
The sunset was impressive from the parking lot tonight when I was getting the coords for it at 8:45 this evening.

I'd love to go along for this one but since I have not competed the other "do first" caches yet it would kind of be cheating (in my own little rule book anyway)
Guess I'll hit the hockey game instead. Have a great hike everyone. It will be a while before I get this one done.

Had got a pass to leave the little ones at home and join in but see that the cache is third in a series. I dont have the first two, just doesnt feel right. Hoping to get into the Anchorage caches a little more this year. Thanks for the invite though.
HAVE FUN, HAZEL

Thanks to everyone who showed up to help secure the success of the mission. 7 fellow agents, including a couple of agents making a follow up visit, successfully secured the information and eluded detection. We even managed egress from the area we stashed the geomobiles in a timely enough manner that we brought no undue attention to the mission.
