Nicely done, Scott! Just think, a few more votes and fuzzy would've been on the cover...

Speaking of cover models, the winning photo was taken on a little islet in Quillian (Mosquito) Bay on Esther Island in Prince William Sound. There is a geocache there that is waiting to be found Mosquito Isle Geocache coord.info/GC4K22B

FYI... Seth's "wicker man" (it reminds me of the movie) photo was so far ahead of everyone else, it would have taken over a dozen additional votes for Fuzzy to make the front page. When checking vote counts on the 2nd day, I called that photo as being the cover as it was already out to a commanding lead. And that lead just kept growing throughout the voting week.
For everyone else following along, the calendars have arrived in Anchorage and wiil be available for purchase at GeoFest. Those in far away places should order through LBK per usual mail order (there is nothing posted on our website just yet).

Folks can check them out there and if they sell out, place their orders with Tony/firemanak for delivery in time for the Fairbanks HOLIDAY BASH. Will try to update online store tonight before hopping a flight to SLC. If not tonight, will be done for certain on Saturday. The new Aurora pathtags are in, too.

Fuzzy - the 'mother ship' is the FV Sound Pacer, currently used as a fish packer (tender). We have a 4 month contract with Peter Pan Seafoods out of Valdez, and we spend most of that 4 months gillnet tendering on the Copper River Flats in the Gulf of Alaska outside of Cordova. Late July through mid-August we switch over to seine tendering in Prince William Sound, where we most frequently work the Esther Island area. Additionally, we have a charter in February and March for the Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation where we do a remote release of hatchery salmon fry, hauling them from Esther Island to Port Chalmers on Montague Island, where they are held in pens and fed for a couple of months before being released into the wild.

Got any jobs available?

I have a list of people wanting jobs, 1 possible position beginning early May, but it is paid at entry level wages, which is not a lot of money.
