Whew! I was going to put on my arguing hat as it was 6 months that was hanging in the back of my mind. Glad you guys got that sorted out. We were both right. The current full citation is: "They are submitted at least two weeks prior to the event so that potential attendees will have sufficient notice to make plans. Events are published no more than three months prior to the event date. Events may be published up to six months prior if an overnight stay is expected or if the event is designed to attract a regional or international group of cachers."

Well then, given that I've been getting emails from folks down in the Lower 48 asking about the date for this year's picnic so they can start making their campsite reservations, I'd say we comply with the "up to six months" standard.

LOL! I was coming from the perspective of Kenai Peninsula residents considering visitors from the other side of the Hope Turnoff as being foreigners.

Just brings to mind how easy it is to subdivide our driveable areas into geographic zones? We could do a different kind of challenge based on that, hmmm? In any case, thanks for illuminating the six month rule, Mike.

If you didn't make this event, you really missed out! The weather was perfect. We had a lot of people with 44 signed in GC's on the logsheet. I cooked nearly 50 hamburgers and nearly 30 hot dogs. And we had 25 daycaches with 9 teams putting in a very competitive chase!
The 6th Annual picnic for 2014 is tentatively going to be on either the weekend of July 19-20 or July 26-27.

Another excellent event - and I've put those two dates into my phone calendar so it's #1 on my summer fun list for 2014.

By the way, Scott, if you need help with 2014, let me know! Barring a possible trip to the Pribilofs next summer at an unknown time, I'm NOT GOING TO MISS THIS ONE THIS NEXT YEAR!
