Heya Everybody, I go by whardier on geocaching.com I'm organizing a meetup called IndieInfoTech ( www.meetup.com/IndieInfoTech ) and a topic popped up that we should have somebody with the local Geocaching community do a presentation on Geocaching and how websites have made a social community out of people that go get lost in the woods... sometimes together. This is a very technical community.. but we all have very common interests.. being beamed coordinates from space is a common interest with most geeks. We focus a lot on community based technology and services. Please see the discussion on meetup.com and respond if you feel up to the challenge. www.meetup.com/IndieInfoTech/messages/boards/thread/29513212/#89626842Thanks for letting me abuse the forum! whardier (Shane R. Spencer)

The GeocacheAlaska! Education Committee may be able to help with this, but we'll still need to have a volunteer presenter from the Anchorage area to deliver. All of our presentation materials are available on the education page of our website.

What date and time? Depending on when I may someone who could be persuaded to share her expertise on the subject. Might take a little convincing to get her to agree but since she has done some of the eduevents she might consider it if the timing is right.

The dates and times are on the meetup site linked initially. It happens twice a month.
I'd really dig it if some cachers could help out.
Sorry for the late reply. Holidays and stuffs.

OK so it looks like January 9th has a presentation opening.. it will be at the Peanut Farm at 7PM.
January 24th at the UAA/APU Consortium Library does as well. That one starts at 7:30pm.
I didn't realize this forum did not email me responses. Kindly send a direct reply about doing a presentation to shane@bogomip.com
