The literature indicates that the Vista should hold a 1000 way points but for some reason I can only get 50 into it. I am downloading from the Geocache web site, Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong or a setting that may need to be changed?

Are you running a pocket query or inputting geocaches in by hand? Also, do you have other waypoints in your GPSr? The total memory capacity is 1000 waypoints and unlimited POIs, but all waypoints not just geocache icon waypoints go toward the 1000 waypoint memory limit. If you do not have any waypoints that you need on your GPSr I would recommend deleting ALL waypoints and loading fresh. Or, as a backup push all of your waypoints to your computer and then delete ALL on the handheld, then push fresh coordinates to the GPSr.
Also, where are you located? More accurately, are the new geocaches you are loading into your GPSr more than 200 miles away from your present location? If so they are most likely actually in the handheld itself. If this is the case, go to the "Find" "Waypoint" or "Geocache" menu and look up a geocache by name or GC# depending upon how you enter your hides/finds and do a search for a known cache that you have input. If it locates it, do a "Go To" and it will track a map line to the cache.
I have run into geocaches not appearing in my GPSr when I have loaded a pocket query for areas several 1000s of miles from home and upon searching the unit for them I have located them.
I hope this helps.
