I have a techno geek question. Is there a way to get sent notifications via email or such when there response to a thread we have posted on? For instance all of my other forum updates are sent to me either by text message or email. Just curious on what that would involve. ;D

Belated response...I've dug all over the knowledge base for this particular board and can't find a way to turn on notifications. I know what you are asking about because the geocaching.com forums have a subscription feature.

Under our new ProBoards software, click the "Actions" drop down box at the top right of the first post and select "Bookmark". Under your personal profile, you can adjust settings to have an email notification when a bookmarked thread gets a new post.

Is there a way to zoom to the top of a long posts page and a particular thread? I really like that new arrow on the Geocaching.com site. one little click and you're back to the top.

Hmmm, I use a wheel mouse so it's never an issue to speed up and down a page. But I'll look into finding some code to add such an item to the page, since we do have full featured tweaking ability for the new forum package.
An associated question... considering a single thread with a lot of discussion, do you prefer a lot of posts per page so that there are fewer page changes or would you prefer shorter pages with fewer posts, thereby giving a long thread many more pages in depth?
Shorter and more pages gives you less scrolling per page, but you'll have more page loads as you go to the next page more often.
Longer pages have you doing more scrolling from top to bottom, but fewer page turns required as a thread gets longer.
(The forum is currently set to the longer pages with more posts per page)

I prefer longer pages with more posts so it's easy to see all the content without having to reload a page. I also use a wheel mouse or the drag bar on the right hand side, so long threads don't bother me.
If a thread crosses pages, it's tougher to multi-quote in a post without opening the reply in a separate window. It's also tougher to view multiple posts with images such as in the Fundraising Committee Alaska Mint geocoin thread if one has to toggle between pages.
However, I suspect it's the iPad and smarty phone users that have issues with long threads.

Long threads and less pages would be fine. And I just learned how to use the little bar on the side of my finger pad on my laptop. WOW that took a long time. I've owned this same one for over 5 years. Actually now that I think about it, that aint bad

Just for you, Fuzzy... Everyone will now see a floating "back to top" arrow at the bottom right corner of every screen on these forums. When you are at the top of the page, it turns into a "go to bottom" of the page arrow. Excellent idea Fuzzy!
