OK folks - cache posting is in its state of review. Here are some tentative facts regarding the event:
- August 1, 2009, 9:30am registration begins, TB exchange and meet/greet. Cache cards will be distributed promptly at 10:00am and the hunt will begin. Event is scheduled to end at 4:00pm. - over 2 dozen caches will be hid - around the Valdez area - Cash prizes will be given away for FTF's. - Each cache found will earn your team 1 to 3 tickets (based of cache difficulty). Tickets will be put in for drawing at the end of the day for CASH prizes (hundreds of dollars of cash prizes!!!). - there are NO registration fee's!
Anyone interested?

Of course I'm interested. I'm also glad you chose a date later in the Summer, I'm sure more people will be able to attend.

Sure! Looks like we'll have about 30 caches, so that should give you a great chance at a couple of FTF's. Looking forward to this event as I have a couple of fun tricks up my sleeve! dennifer

Wow – I can’t believe the success of this event. As a first time organizer, I had no idea what to expect. Thanks to everyone who attended, especially those of you who took the time and money to travel to Valdez just for this occasion. Final count was 136 people and 42 teams. Furthest participants were from Florida, Michigan, Nebraska and Washington (although they just happened to be in the area during the event).
Congrats to the big winners – Team Crow Killers (Tinman4x and AngelFire25) for earning 38 out of 50 possible points!!! Hope those nettles didn’t get you to bad!
Up for the adventure again next year? I know I am. Pencil in Saturday, August 7, 2010!!!
Also, let me know if you have any thoughts/ideas on how how to improve next year's events. I'm open to all suggestions!
Thanks again,
Jennifer

Captain Zirk and the crew love an excuse to beam down to Valdez. Count us in! The picture is from our spring 2009 expedition across the bay. Attachments:
