A recent local trend I've noticed is that the "Needs Maintenance" log is being used instead of the "Didn't Find It" log by cachers who couldn't find a cache. From the Groundspeak Knowledgebase, "If you find a geocache that is in need of some help (e.g. container is cracked, logbook is almost full or is damp), please post a "Needs Maintenance" log on the cache page so the cache owner is notified. This log adds an attribute to the page (looks like a colored cross) to alert other geocachers of the needed repairs." I might add to this, found a geocaching sticker, but not the ammo can, found lid to container, but no log, etc. If a cacher doesn't find the cache, the cacher doesn't know if the geocache needs help as indicated by a "Needs Maintenance" log. By not using the more appropriate "Didn't Find It" log, Geocaching Swiss Army Knife and other filters that key on "Didn't Find" logs incorrectly exclude or include caches, depending on how the filters are set up.
