For Your Info: Boniface and Tudor Rd intersection will be closed beginning around 8pm Friday May 8th through the rest of the weekend. Crews are doing work to set up the intersection to accomodate traffic coming into it from the south (the new Dr Martin Luther King Avenue connection - aka 48th Ave extension project - which has cut an east-west corridor right across the north side of Far North Bicentennial Park). Essentially, Tudor Rd won't be available as a connector to/from Muldoon during this upcoming weekend. Use one of the other 3 major roads that run east-west across town in that area (Northern Lights, Debarr, or the Glenn Hwy...). This summer will see more construction at that intersection as crews work to complete Dr Martin Luther King Avenue.

Are they going to name everything after MLK? This is a real problem for emergency workers. There have been many great Americans and Alaskans to name stuff after, like the "Skinner" bypass.

Northwes thanks for the heads up on the closure. I was heading out that way and like last weekend at Elmore they had the lanes down to one with flaggers making it a real pain to get thru there I would have avoided it if I had known ahead of time.
Ole, I must agree there are lots of Alaskans that they could name roads after all being that it is so close to the Troopers you would think it might have been for one of there own or and APD officer that was KIA.
Not that MLK isn't a good person with what he did, but the likes of Norman Vaughn, Carl Ben Eielson, Sydney Lawrence, Sheldon Jackson, John Muir, Walter Hickel, Joe Redington, Bob Bartlett, Jewell, and others are the folks that made Alaska what it is and put us on the map, still others like the Aleut, Inuit, Yup'ik, Athapaskan, the people that are still here and still living off the land. The new road is going to be near the Native hospital too. Oh well guess they didn't ask my opinion. sorry for the rant...

I would love to drive down the Herbie Nayokpuk parkway someday. It'd make a great starting point for a cannonball run.
Thanks for the head up though NorthWes, I live nearby but avoid that intersection at all costs.
